We study here the dynamic susceptibility of a model quantum glass. A s
tatistical mechanical treatment, based on a mean-field analysis of the
transverse Ising model, is able to account for the competition betwee
n disorder and frustration, on the one hand, and quantal fluctuations
on the other. Our results derived for the dynamic susceptibility are i
n qualitative agreement with experimental measurements on a recently s
tudied dipolar-coupled quantum glass, namely LiHoxY1-xF4, whose quantu
m term can be manipulated in the laboratory.
