Abstract
It is proposed that the triangular antiferromagnetic beta-structure pr ecedes the triangular antiferromagnetic alpha-structure observed in YM nO3 by neutron diffraction studies at 4.2 K. The experimental observat ion of the anomalous behavior of the dielectric constant below Neel te mperature is attributed to the phase transition between beta and alpha configurations.
