Abstract
A new iridoid glycoside, scrovaleneinoside (1), was isolated from the MeOH extract of the aerial parts of Scrophularia auriculata L. ssp. ps eudoauriculata. The structure of the new compound 1 was elucidated as 6-O-(2 '',3 ''-di-O-acetyl-4 ''-O-p-methoxy-cinnamoyl)-alpha-L-rhamnop yranosyl catalpol by spectroscopic methods. The known iridoid glycosid e, scropolioside A; two saponins, verbascosaponin A and verbascosaponi n; and the phenylethanoid glycoside, verbascoside, were also isolated.
