Abstract
The excess molar enthalpies H-m(E) Of mixtures of pyrrolidin-2-one wit h hexan-1-ol, or heptan-1-ol, or octan-1-ol, or nonan-1-ol, or decan-1 -ol have been measured over the entire composition range at the temper ature T= 303.15K. The H-m(E) values are positive for all the mixtures over the whole composition range. The values for higher alkanols incre ase in the order hexan-1-ol < heptan-1-ol < octan-1-ol < nonan-1-ol < decan-1-ol. The H-m(E) values have been used to calculate the excess p artial molar enthalpies of the respective components. (C) 1998 Academi c Press.
