Abstract
This paper presents a method for a quick evaluation of stresses and di splacements in three-dimensional structures for elastostatic problems. First, an approximation is derived from the mathematical structure of solutions for starshaped domains. This approximation is representativ e of interior effects. Second, a variational formulation consistent wi th this approximation is proposed. Finally, two alternative procedures for coupling domains are demonstrated.
