Abstract
UV absorption cross-sections for N2O5 were measured in the wavelength region 240-420 nm and in the temperature range 313-233 K, using a dual -beam diode array spectrometer. Assessment of the concentrations of im purities in the N2O5 samples required measurement of the IR spectra fo r N2O5 and HNO3. Therefore, absolute IR band strengths for the HNO3 13 80-1280 cm-1 and 930-840 cm-1 bands and the N2O5 1280-1210 cm-1 and 78 0-710 cm-1 bands were also measured. The results of both absorption cr oss-sections and band strengths are in excellent agreement with previo us studies.
