Abstract
Ti-35V-15Cr-0.05C is a new nonburning titanium alloy. The structural a nalyses show that the alloy consists of beta phase and lath-like alpha phase distributed within beta grains, and some titanium carbide parti cles appear at grain boundaries. Using dark field TEM method, it was a lso found that; TiCr2 phase uniformly precipitates in a phase. After h eat treatment at 900 degrees C for 15 min, equiaxed beta phase of 60 s imilar to 80 mu m in diameter and lath-like alpha phase of 1-2% volume fraction were observed. This alloy possesses attractive mechanical pr operties.
