Abstract
Nanocrystalline aluminum nitride (whisker and particle) has been synth esized by heating the mixed aluminum+aluminum nitride ultrafine powder s (UFPs) produced by nitrogen plasma-molten aluminum reaction, under N -2 atmosphere at lower temperature. Some bamboo-like nano- whiskers of aluminum nitride were observed in TEM, the possible formation mechani sm of the whiskers was also disucssed.
