Abstract
Poultry production requires careful nutritional and sanitary managemen t. For this, the study of acceptability, digestibility and absorption rate shall be priority for maximum yield obtention. In order to evalua te the post-operative adaptation, a plastic T piece cannulae made from 1 mt disposable syringes was implanted in the terminal ileum of eleve n broilers (group I), and eleven others were cecectomized. The cannula tion procedure, digestive transit, complications incidence and behavio ur were evaluated during 30 days. Cecectomized broilers had an excelle nt evolution, while those submitted to ileal cannulation presented can nulae patency for short time.
