We present high-resolution measurements of the Auger M5N67N67 transiti
ons of Au, Pt and W. All the lines studied are narrower than 2 eV. We
also measured the atomic sensitivities for the above Auger transitions
with a resolution of 0.4% of the Auger energy (somewhat better than c
ommonly available). With this resolution it is impossible to resolve f
ine structure and gross errors am incurred in the measurements of Auge
r signals. We corrected the measured sensitivities with the method dev
eloped previously; the correction factors for the sensitivities are ar
ound ten. These large factors represent also the errors incurred in th
e as-measured sensitivities if no correction is applied.
