The aim of this study is to characterize the structure and catalytic p
roperties of Bi2MoO6 compounds, for CO oxidation. These catalysts were
prepared by solid state methods with an intended atomic ratio Bi/Mo =
2. X-ray diffraction shows die presence of a Koechlinite phase in the
samples calcined at low temperature, and a gamma phase (Watanabe) in
die samples calcined at high temperature. However, all samples appeare
d to be bismuth deficient (compared to the stoichiometric ratio of two
), as indicated by Auger analysis. The catalytic activity shows a CO2
yield better than 40% for these catalysts.
