Abstract
Water containing hydrophilic ointment was modified by incorporation of ethanol. The influence on the microbiological situation and on the co oling effect of the vehicle was investigated. An amount of 10% (m/m) h ad an antimicrobiological activity. The cooling effect decreased with an increasing amount of ethanol so we suppose an incorporation of the ethanol in the interlamellar network of the cream.
