Abstract
Energy sharing is considered for collision cascades in a polyatomic me dium with constituents of very different atomic numbers and masses. Co nsiderable disagreement is found between predictions of Anderson and S igmund and a Monte Carlo simulation on HfC, even for equivalent physic al input. An improved theory due to Urbassek and Conrad is shown to re move this discrepancy.
