The variation of the electronic structure of V(100) slabs in sandwich-
type MI-V-M2 systems is studied by using the Green function matching m
ethod and empirical tight binding with s, p and d bands. Combinations
of Nb, Cr, Mo and Ta are used for M1 and M2. Here, we chose to study m
ainly the local density of states for each V interface as a function o
f V slab size. For the slab sizes studied we find that the properties
for the sandwich system are reduced to those of uncoupled interfaces o
f two semi-infinite media in contact.
