2 PROBLEMS OF WAVE-GUIDES CARRYING MEAN FLUID-FLOW

This work is concerned with the radiation of sound from a semi-infinit e rigid duct. This duct is located symmetrically inside an infinite du ct whose surfaces are (1) soft and (2) rigid. The whole fluid region i nside these ducts is in motion with a constant fluid velocity. Because of the fluid flow vortex sheets are assumed to be attached to the two half planes which constitute the semi-infinite duct. The present math ematical problems can be considered as models for a duct with splitter plates. (C) 1998 Academic Press.
