Mg. Haines et Ng. Kassapakis, ATTAINMENT OF LARGE ION LARMOR RADIUS (LLR) CONDITIONS IN A COMPRESSIONAL Z-PINCH, IEEE transactions on plasma science, 26(4), 1998, pp. 1208-1209
A simple model that allows us to find the optimal conditions, regardin
g stability, for operation of a compressional pinch is presented, The
implosion is represented by a snowplough model with a linearly rising
current. We conclude that the time for the pinch to reach the compress
ed state is significantly prolonged if the pinch is operated in the la
rge ion Larmor radius (LLR) regime while the ion Hall parameter is lar
ger than one.
