Abstract
This paper presents numerical computation of the electromagnetic (EM) coupling between circular loop antennas and a full-scale human-body mo del. The loop antenna can be x-, y-, or z-oriented. Coupled integral e quations (CIE's) and the method of moments (MoM) are employed to numer ically solve this antenna-body-coupling problem, Numerical results of the antenna radiation characteristics influenced by the human body and the body-absorption rate from 50 to 400 MHz are presented. The applic ations of this study include assessment of a radiofrequency (RF) dose from a loop antenna and the body effect on the performance of the loop antenna used in personal communication devices such as radio pagers.
