Abstract
The structure of the title compound osphino)propyl](phenyl)phosphino}p henyl)-1kappaC1: 2kappa2P,P'; 1kappa2P,P':2kappaC1-mu-hydroxo-diplatin um(II) tetrafluoroborate bis(dichloromethane) solvate is reported as o ne of the few examples of a derivative of the parent dimers [Pt-O-C6H4 (Ph)P(CH2)nPPh2]2 where n = 2 or 3. Such dimers are linked by two brid ging ortho-metallated phenyls attached to a coordinated P atom. The hy droxo group symmetrically bridges the two Pt atoms increasing their se paration to 2.867 angstrom.
