In the tide complex, 13-pentaoxacyclo-pentadec-2-ene-3,5-dinitrobenzoi
c acid-water (1/1/1), the structure of which was determined by X-ray d
iffraction methods at 100 K, the water molecule is involved as a donor
in hydrogen bonding to three O atoms of the most flexible part of the
crown and as an acceptor in a hydrogen bond with the carboxyl group o
f 3,5-dinitrobenzoic acid.
