We explore the effects of different plasma parameters on the Li-like 1
s2l2l'-1s(2)2l line emission feature. At very high density (N(e) > 10(
23) cm-3 for Al), the broadening is important and 1s2l2l' level popula
tions have readied the local thermodynamical equilibrium (LTE). The br
oadening is mainly due to the electrons. Moreover, we show here for th
e first time that spectra emitted on short timescales at less high den
sities (N(e) less-than-or-equal-top 5 x 10(22) cm-3 for Al) are strong
ly affected by non-steady-state population kinetics and also by a non-
Maxwellian character of the plasma electron distribution function.
