Abstract
The UCl3 type of structure may be understood as a distorted hexagonal closest packing of spheres of the general composition MX3 (space group P6(3)/m, Z=2). The empty channels parallel [001] may be filled partia lly with monovalent cations (A(+)). Addition/substitution derivatives obtained according to A(I)((BMIII)-M-II)X-6. Chloride idealized compos ition A(SrSm)Cl-6, A(SrEu)Cl-6, are obtained according to A(I)((BMIII) -M-II)X-6. Chlorides of A(BaLa)Cl-6 as well as bromides A(BaLa)Br-6 (A = Na, Ag) were synthesized. Details of the crystal structures of Na(S rSm)Cl-6, Ag(SrEu)Cl-6, and Na(BaLa)Br-6 were determined. Ionic conduc tivity measurements were carried out for Na(SrSm)Cl-6, Ag(SrSm)Cl-6 an d Na(BaLa)Br-6 by impedance spectroscopy.
