The electrochemical behaviour of the [Co-2(CO)(6)](2)(mu-R-C=C-L-C=C-R
) and [Co-2(CO)(4)(dppm)](2)(mu-R-C=C-L-C=C-R) series is reported. Qua
litative evidence suggests that both through-space and through-bond in
teractions are operating with different relative weight depending on t
he spacer L.
