Abstract
This paper analyses the technical possibilities which exist to avoid a large increase of carbon dioxide emissions produced by electricity ge neration in China. The paper evaluates different technical means such as wind energy. solar energy (thermal and PI). hydro energy, tidal ene rgy. geothermal energy and biomass for electricity production in China . The potential of each power source is estimated In a final scenario, the influence of these technical means on the CO2 reduction in the ye ar 2020 will be predicted.
