QUARK POTENTIAL APPROACH TO BARYONS AND MESONS

Applicability of quark potential models for nucleons, qqq, and heavy m esons like quarkonia QQBAR and atomlike mesons QqBAR is reviewed. Info rmation regarding interquark potentials contained therein is used in p redicting mass levels of these hadrons, and charge form factors and ch arge radii of nucleons. Related subjects such as quark cluster effects , heavy flavored baryons and heavy hybrid mesons, non-local potentials in baryons and possible superheavy toponium are reviewed for future d evelopment. Theoretical problems connected to the quark potential appr oach are spelled out.
