Ik. Tlepshukov et Mv. Baluda, DISTURBANCES OF HEMOSTATIC HOMEOSTASIS IN LIQUIDATORS OF CONSEQUENCESOF THE CHERNOBYL NUCLEAR DISASTER, Kardiologia, 38(8), 1998, pp. 48-50
It was shown in a controlled study that participation in rescue and re
paratory works after the Chernobyl nuclear accident caused disturbance
s of hemostatic balance (decrease of antithrombogenic properties of va
scular wall, intravascular activation of platelets, coagulation and fi
brinolysis). These disturbances increase risk of atherosclerosis, card
iovascular diseases and accelerated aging. Thus special measures direc
ted to lowering of elevated thrombogenic potential in liquidators of c
onsequences of the Chernobyl nuclear accident are necessary.
