Abstract
The influence of zero-filling on the peak integral precision is examin ed when integration is carried out by direct summation of spectral poi nt ordinates. A relationship that allows the computation of the standa rd deviation of the integrals is derived, taking into account the effe cts of apodization and noise intensity profile. Discrepancies between theory and experimentation arise from nonideal characteristics of nois e. (C) 1998 Academic Press.
