Abstract
Magnetisation and magnetoreflectivity of quaternary semimagnetic semic onductors with small Mn mole fraction: cubic Zn0.1Cd0.89Mn0.01Te and w urtzite Cd0.99Mn0.01Se0.3Te0.7 were studied. Magnetisation measurement s, performed by SQUID technique at temperature of T = 2 K in the magne tic field up to 5 T exhibited paramagnetic like behaviour. Magnetorefl ectivity measurements were also performed in the magnetic field up to 5 T and temperature T = 2 K in Faraday and Voigt configuration. Exchan ge integrals for both materials based on experimentally obtained data were calculated. Results were compared with those for ternary semimagn etic semiconductors. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
