Abstract
The results of ESR measurements on LiNbO3 single crystal doped with Fe 3+, Cr3+, Mn2+ or Cu2+ and also LiTaO3 doped with Cu2+ ions are presen ted. The absorption spectra of these crystals before and after gamma a nd electron irradiation are described. The IR absorption band of the O H- group is analysed to determine the most probable location of Cu2+ a nd Fe3+ ions in the LiNbO3 lattice. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
