Abstract
This is the first case of an adult who developed recurrent pulmonary e dema as a result of unrecognized chronic upper airway obstruction due to polyarticular juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. The case highlights th e importance of considering upper airway involvement in the differenti al diagnosis of sedentary patients with arthritic joint disease and br eathing difficulties.
