Abstract
We investigate the contribution to the opacity of the solar atmosphere of some processes other than formation and photodissociation of the H - ion. We show that positive-ion-atom radiative collision processes ar e not negligible at certain layers of the photosphere and of the chrom osphere, although they make only a negligible contribution to the sola r continuous optical emission emergent intensity.
