Dm. Diazpontones et al., LOCALIZATION AND QUANTITY OF PROTEINS DUR ING SEED DEVELOPMENT OF THEIPOMOEA-PURPUREA (L) ROTH, Phyton, 54(1), 1993, pp. 23-28
Developing seeds of Ipomoea purpurea were analysed for proteins from a
nthesis to maturity. The total amount was highest at maturity; albumin
s were predominant, followed by globulins and prolamins. At the begini
ng, the proteins occur in the seed covers. Later they appear in large
amouns in the embryo, especially around the procambium, the epicotyl a
nd very conspicuously in the cotyledons. At naturity, intense staining
occurs in the testa and in the embryo, particularly in the cotyledons
.
