Jm. Feagin, A HELIUM-LIKE DESCRIPTION OF MOLECULAR-HYDROGEN PHOTO-DOUBLE IONIZATION, Journal of physics. B, Atomic molecular and optical physics (Print), 31(18), 1998, pp. 729-736
A molecular photo-double ionization cross section is derived by defini
ng the molecule's transition dipole moment in a molecule-fixed frame i
n analogy with helium double ionization. Transformed to the laboratory
frame, the result helps explain the striking similarity of measured e
lectron-pair angular distributions in D-2 and helium and a surprising
enhancement in the molecular cross section observed where the atomic d
istribution vanishes.
