Abstract
The isolation and characterization of three new beta-apolignans, namel y, 1,4-dihydrotaiwanin C (3), jusneesiin (4) and jusneesiinol (5), in addition to (-) hibalactone (6), from J. neesii are reported. Compound s 4 and 5 are unprecedentedly angularly fused beta-apolignans and the structure of 5 was confirmed by X-ray diffraction data. (C) 1998 Elsev ier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
