Abstract
This report describes a renal ultrasonographic abnormality (medullary rim sign), which was identified in 2 separate cases of spontaneously o ccurring disease associated with chronic and acute overdosage of pheny lbutazone therapy. In horses, medullary rim sign has only been documen ted in neonatal foals experimentally administered large doses of pheny lbutazone.
