T. Asahata et al., NEW NEUTRAL-SCATTERING AND ION-SCATTERING SPECTROSCOPY AS APPLIED TO SELECTIVE ADSORPTION OF HYDROGEN ON CU-PT ALLOY SURFACES, JPN J A P 1, 37(9A), 1998, pp. 5080-5081
A newly developed time-of-flight system equipped with an accelerating
tube was applied to hydrogen adsorption an Cu-Pt alloy surfaces. The s
imultaneous measurements of the scattered neutrals, Ne-o, and ions, Ne
+, from adsorbates have shown that selective adsorption of hydrogen on
Pt atoms does occur on polycrystalline Cu-Pt alloy surfaces. Correlat
ion of hydrogen coverage with the neutralization of an ISS signal is a
lso discussed.
