D. Badov et al., HELICOBACTER-PYLORI AS A PATHOGENIC FACTOR IN MENETRIERS-DISEASE, The American journal of gastroenterology, 93(10), 1998, pp. 1976-1979
The cause of Menetrier's disease is unknown, although various autoimmu
ne, allergic, and infective causes have been postulated. This case rep
ort describes a 37-yr-old man with MCnetrier's disease associated with
protein-losing enteropathy and Helicobacter pylori infection. Clinica
l, endoscopic, histological, and biochemical resolution occurred after
treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection, The improvement observed
in this case supports an etiological role for H, pylori infection in M
enetrier's disease. (Am J Gastroenterol 1998;93: 1976-1979, (C) 1998 b
