Abstract
Time-resolved VUV spectroscopy has been used to investigate the effect s of impurities in a reversed field pinch operating with a resistive S hell. Results of electron temperature, impurity ion densities, particl e confinement time and Z(eff) together with a description of the inter pretation and the equipment are presented.
