Abstract
The term ''myelodysplastic syndrome'' refers to any of a group of myel oproliferative disorders characterized by anemia, neutropenia, or thro mbocytopenia accompanied by dysplasia of the hematopoietic stem cells in bone marrow, with blast cells comprising less than 30% of the nucle ated cell population in bone marrow. Administration of erythropoietin may be useful in the management of refractory anemia associated with m yelodysplastic syndrome in dogs.
