Abstract
The behavior of Pa, U, Np, and Pu in the system LiI-PrI3-PrI2 is studi ed. In the presence of Pr2+ these actinides are reduced to the oxidati on state 2+ and cocrystalize with the solid phase of PrI2, formed from the homogeneous melt LiI-PrI3-PrI2. Actinides with the electronic con figuration f(n-1) d(1) in divalent state are able to afford mixed cond ensed iodide clusters (Pr,An)I-2.
