Mc. Dezoete et al., SELECTIVE OXIDATION OF PENICILLIN-G WITH HYDROGEN-PEROXIDE AND WITH ENZYMATICALLY GENERATED PEROXYOCTANOIC ACID, Recueil des travaux chimiques des Pays-Bas, 112(7-8), 1993, pp. 462-463
Two convenient procedures for the oxidation of penicillin G into penic
illin G 1-(s)-oxide have been developed. Both the mild oxidation with
enzymatically generated peroxyoctanoic acid and the attractive and sim
ple oxidation with the sole use of hydrogen peroxide are valuable alte
rnatives for the commercial oxidation with 40% peroxyacetic acid.
