GENERAL-GUIDELINES FOR RESIDENT TRAINING IN CRITICAL CARE MEDICINE

A review of current published curriculum guidelines regarding resident training in critical care medicine is presented including suggested m ethods to teach this curriculum. Perspectives regarding challenges to graduate medical education in critical care medicine such as reimburse ment for teaching; the cost of teaching residents in the ICU; and the quality of care provided in ICUs that teach general residents are also discussed.
