The stability of developmental test results was studied in a multivari
ate analysis. A sample of 139 children war tested with three multidime
nsional tests (subscales of the Bayley Scales, Ordinal Scales of Senso
rimotor Development, Munique Developmental Diagnosis) at the age of 8
and 15 months. Principal component analyses with varimax rotation resu
lted in three interpretable factors at each age level. Correlation coe
fficients between the factor values at time 1 and time 2 were highest
for factors of similar content. The test results of boys and girls did
not differ in factor structure or factor score means, but in the patt
ern of correlation coefficients across time.
