Abstract
The strong negative electrostatic field applied to the surface of a hi gh-T(c) superconducting YBa2Cu3O7-delta thin film has been found to in crease the transport critical current density (J(c)) in the vicinity o f T(c). Ion implantation of oxygen increases J(c) but, after implantat ion, a decrease of the critical current under the influence of an elec tric field has been observed. The effect of the electric field on J(c) is explained by the modulation of superconducting properties of the p olycrystalline film surface.
