Abstract
The effect of enzyme addition on the nutritive value of a diet containing u
nprocessed sunflower seed (150 g kg(-1)) was evaluated. A commercial enzyme
complex (Energex(R) CT) with cell wall degrading activity was used at the
inclusion level of 0, 0.5, 1.0 and 1.0 g kg(-1) diet. The results showed th
at responses to enzyme in terms of performance parameters, fat and individu
al fatty acids digestibilities and dietary AMEn were small, and the differe
nces were not significant in any case. Apparent ileal crude protein and ami
no acid digestibility values were similar among treatment groups, and no te
ndency was detected associated with enzyme application. (C) 1999 Elsevier S
