V. Zelano et al., Evaluation of ligand properties of the Bormida and Po river sediments by potentiometric acid-base titrations, ANN CHIM, 89(1-2), 1999, pp. 13-21
The acid-base and ligand properties of two river sediments (the Bormida riv
er and the Po river) were investigated by means of alkalimetric titrations
performed on suspensions containing different sediment weights suspended in
an acidic solution at controlled ionic strength (0.01, 0.1 and 1 M). In or
der to investigate the sediments composition, FT/IR and diffractometric spe
ctra were registered for the dry sediments and trace metal content and elem
ental compositions were determined. For both the sediments considered, by e
laborating the potentiometric data it was possible to propose models that e
xplain the trend of the experimental values better for both proton-sediment
and sediment-copper(II) systems.
