Abstract
Weanling rats were given diets contained castor oil (CAO-diet), coconut oil
(CO-diet), or high-oleic safflower oil (HO-dliet) each 10% (wt). No growth
retardations were observed on the CAO-diets. The CAO-diet group showed sig
nificantly lower serum cholesterol and hepatic triacylglycerols than the no
-diet group. Ricinoleic acid was found at san extremely low level in perire
nal adipose tissue.
