Thermochemical properties of three nitrosohydrazine derivatives, methylnitr
osohydrazine, ethylenedinitrosohydrazine, and vinyl ether of nitrosohydrazi
ne, are studied. The heats of combustion and enthalpies of formation of the
se compounds are measured by means of combustion calorimetry. Their enthalp
ies of formation in gas phase are assessed from their enthalpies of sublima
tion measured with a Calvet microcalorimeter. The dissociation energy of th
e nitroso group of methylnitrosohydrazine is estimated at 179.6 kJ/mol base
d on the thermochemical data obtained. The contribution of the nitrosohydra
zine fragment to the enthalpies of formation in condensed and gas states is
assessed.
