Abstract
A technique is presented for approximating the spherical harmonic represent ation error during analysis, which in turn can be applied to determine a re asonable representation order for spherical harmonic modelling. Thr order i s estimated according to a selected final error value instead of it having to br set in advance. In this way the modelling process is automated.
