Abstract
Singlemode fibres for optical 1.3 mu m amplification with 760 wt.ppm Pr3+ h ave been prepared for the first time in the As-S system. The fibres show lo w losses in the pump and signal region, good fluorescence behaviour and goo d mechanical properties.
