Abstract
Laval cyathostomosis is a parasitic disease of horses. Severity of the dise ase can vary from a subclinical form where performance may not be up to exp ectations, to an acute form characterized by a sudden onset of profuse diar rhea, severe and rapid weight loss, and ever death. It is recommended to pr event larval cyathostomosis using a strategically timed larvicidal treatmen t with fenbendazole. Control of other common internal parasites are also in cluded in the proposed optimal parasite control plans which are based upon geographical areas of the US.
